Earth Week’s Eco-Friendly Fashion
It’s Earth Week here at Gilt and in honor of April 22nd, we’re offering an impressive lineup of our favorite eco-friendly designers. In addition, Gilt Groupe will be donating a portion of the proceeds from this week’s Earth Day Sales to the Audubon Society and to Conservation International. Donning eco-friendly fashion is the most stylish way to reduce your ecological footprint, so be sure to check out our sales this week:
MATT & NAT Tuesday 4/21
Loomstate and Stewart + Brown Wednesday 4/22
Edun Men's Wednesday 4/22
Edun Women's Wednesday 4/22
Stella McCartney for LeSportsac Wednesday 4/22
What a great idea. The Audubon society is a fantastic conservation group, AND I love Matt & Nat handbags. I'd love to see this as more than just a timely nod to earth day - why not try something similar once a month, even if it's just for a day? Every time you are (generously) donating a portion of your sales to charity, you should put that info somewhere on the front/sale page so that everyone sees it. I know it will encourage me to spend more, and I'm sure I'm not alone!

just curious, how much is "a portion"?

I want to personally thank the management at Gilt for having eco-friendly and vegan accessories available. I have been veggie for about 15 years and haven't worn animal products for at least ten. However, I LOVE fashion and having great bags, belts and shoes that are suitable for vegetarians has been a consistent challenge. Thanks to all of you who made this happen. I hope this is the beginning of a trend! Already have a Stella bag from the first sale, and just bought a bunch of Matt and Nat stuff! Keep up the good work; I'll keep coming back for more!

Thank you for your comments! We look forward to offering sale tie-ins to social causes on a more frequent basis. I am strong believer in green and "sustainable" fashions, so I am thrilled to offer these sales to our membership on Earth day!

I'm so glad to see we have vegan, animal friendly products. I'd like to see this done more often. I'm always looking for products such as this that are not only fashionable, but environmentally conscious. Thank you

Yay - you used my idea and put the info on the sale page! I'm sure it will be great for business. The only thing that could make this promo more golden is to concretely define "portion" (as another commenter has also noted). Not doing so impacts your credibility by giving the impression that the number is being concealed because it is embarrassingly low. Yikes!

katherinevaughan -- Thank you for your suggestions! I will look into the "portion" for further information and clarity. Thank you again for taking the time to leave us here at gilt feedback!
