A Very Gilty Fashion Week

A Very Gilty Fashion Week

Just shy of our second anniversary, Gilt Groupe has a lot of fashion followers and designers to thank for our success. So of course we figured the best way to do that would be to sponsor four shows at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. We were so honored to support the runway and in-studio presentations by 3.1 Phillip Lim, Alexander Wang, Rodarte and Peter Som, because just like Gilt, these designers represent a changing-of-the-guard moment in American fashion.

The week kicked off with Fashion’s Night Out – an initiative by Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America and the city of New York to raise funds for the National September 11 Memorial and Museum. In New York, more than 800 stores across the five boroughs stayed open until 11 pm the night of September 10, while across the country, Gilt members supported Fashion’s Night Out by purchasing T-shirts. One such Fashion’s Night Out supporter was Gilt member and fashion blogger Gretchen Eagan, who played I’m Gilty in a Fashion’s Night Out tee hereAnd you can read the uptown adventures of our founders, Alexandra Wilkis Wilson and Alexis Maybank, on Fashion’s Night Out here.

As for the shows, they were marvels of high style and big ideas. Alexander Wang played with midriff-baring, all-American sportswear. From California, sisters Laura and Kate Mulleavy of Rodarte made us think Apocalypse Wow! We saw red when Phillip Lim sent models down the runway in gray, metallic and ruby threads. And Peter Som was our Prints Charming of the season.

We had a blast supporting this new wave of American design talent and look forward to offering you the very best from their collections in the future.

I think your shipping charges are acceptable and prefer you retain your present system. I'd rather know that what I ordered will arrive in good shape and be left by UPS at my doorstep. Once received, ff it does not fit or really isn't black, you have made it easy to return it quickly.
