Gilty Screening: The Young Victoria

• The Young Victoria, a new film starring Emily Blunt that depicts the life, romance and reign of Queen Victoria in her early years, glitters with the lush costumes and elaborate furnishings of the 1830s. Everyone here at Gilt fell in love with the fashion of the times, so last week we were very honored to be able to host the Houston premiere of this Apparition film.

• The much-raved-bout screening took place at Houston's historic Angelika Theatre, and after the screening Gilt welcomed everyone to the fun and decorative Hotel Zaza. With its red-velvet drapery and comfy couches, Hotel Zaza was the perfect venue for celebrating the glamorous life of Queen Victoria. The packed after-party even had a photo booth, where guests could pretend to be stars of the film in front of a backdrop of Queen Victoria’s castle.

• Although the unexpected cold weather came as a bit of a surprise to us New Yorkers hoping to bask in the warmth of Texas, we still got a very warm response from our Texan guests. Now even Queen Victoria is Gilty!
