Go Behind the Scenes of Gilt’s Fun Photoshoot at DVF’s Gorgeous NYC Showroom!

Not only has Diane von Furstenberg created one of the most iconic garments in modern history with her famed wrap dress — she’s also created one of the most recognizable spaces in Manhattan with her combination store-studio-private residence on the corner of w. 14th Street and Washington Avenue in the Meatpacking District.

So we were thrilled when we were invited to shoot inside the 5,000-square-foot space for our upcoming DVF sale on Gilt.com! Designed by WORK Architecture, the centerpiece of the studio is the “stairdelier,” a stunning design made of Swarovski crystals that fills the entire white space with sparkling light.

Another highlight of the space is von Furstenberg’s art collection, which is so packed with important works that it has even gone on a global tour courtesy of Pace Gallery.

Our amazing creative team loved shooting in the space and pairing the designer’s fabulous clothing with her equally fabulous space. Click through our behind-the-scenes mini-magazine above, and then shop the Diane von Furstenberg sale — featuring everything from clothing to shoes to handbags to swim to luggage — on April 26, at noon ET, on Gilt.com.

[L to R.: Gilt Women's Editorial Director Melissa Liebling-Goldberg; Decades' Cameron Silver; Lisa Rinna; Gilt Women's General Manager Jyothi Rao; Decades co-founder Christos Garkinos; and Modern Vintage's Rick Cytrynbaum]

On Tuesday, March 13, Gilt hosted a fun and fabulous party at the famed Decades boutique in L.A. to celebrate the launch of owner Cameron Silver’s amazing new collaborative shoe line, Decades for Modern Vintage, which we’re selling exclusively online on Gilt.com.

Gilt Women’s general manager Jyothi Rao and editorial director Melissa Liebling-Goldberg flew out to host the party, where they rubbed elbows with shoe-loving celebs like Lisa Rinna, Revenge’s Ashley Madekwe, and Garcelle Beauvais. The crowd sipped delicious Svedka specialty cocktails and ogled the amazing designs Cameron Silver cooked up, while a bevy of models showed off gorgeous vintage Biba dresses along with the shoes in the collection. We had a wonderful time in L.A. and can’t wait to go back!

Check out our Q&A with Cameron Silver to find out more about the line, and then shop our Decades for Modern Vintage sales today on Gilt.com.

Gilt Heads South for a Wine Tour, Miami-Style

Last week we headed down south with our founder Alexandra Wilkis Wilson for an amazing event at Soho Beach House in celebration of the kickoff of the Miami social season.

Along with some of our stylish South Florida members, we kicked things off by relaxing on a pool deck overlooking the white sand beaches, and sipping rosé and Sauvignon Blanc from Blackbird Vineyards and Ma(i)sonry Napa Valley.

In true Miami style, we lingered over cocktails longer than expected and we were late sitting down to dinner. When we finally found our seats, Alexandra welcomed all the guests and talked about her strong ties to Miami, which got a big round of applause.

Next, winery owner Michael Polenske gave us a mini-tutorial on all the wines we were going to be tasting that night; two wines with each course! Then it was time for an amazing dinner, Miami-style. Needless to say, we had a fabulous time in South Florida—and luckily, Art Basel is only a couple months away. We can’t wait to go back!

Gilt Does Dallas With a Fab Dinner at Fearing’s

This Thursday, we escaped the NYC storms just in time to make it down to sunny Dallas, Texas. As if that wasn’t reason enough to celebrate, we got together with some of Gilt’s fabulous Dallas members for dinner at one of the city’s top restaurants, Fearing’s. The private Sendero Room was a perfectly beautiful space with floor-to-ceiling windows, complete with a view of the fountains outside.

Gilt founder Alexandra Wilkis Wilson welcomed some of the best dressed of Dallas (our members, of course!) and introduced Chef de Cuisine, Eric Dryer, and Wine Director Paul Botamer, who spoke about the curated menu and wine pairings. The very special menu featured Dean Fearing’s famous Tortilla Soup and his signature Buffalo dish—the cuisine was definitely not for the timid! We never knew that you could pair wine with Tortilla Soup, but Thursday night changed our minds forever.

But you never know what to expect in Texas—a storm appeared out of nowhere and dazzled the guests with a lightning show. We loved coming to Dallas and had the best time meeting all of the warm-hearted people who now feel like family—see you soon, y’all!
