We think Kermit the Frog was wrong — it’s easy being green. In celebration of Earth Day, we wanted to help you go beyond the eco-basics (using canvas bags for groceries, buying local ingredients, etc.). So we asked Project Nursery, one of the best online destinations for children’s design, to create babies rooms that help protect the planet. We’re loving all the products they chose, and they’ll all be on sale at Gilt Baby & Kids starting Tuesday.
Here, the experts at Project Nursery explain why they chose each of the products above for the perfect girl’s room. To see the boy’s room, click here.

Shopping for kids’ furniture can be downright intimidating — we’re pretty sure having dinner with your mother-in-law doesn’t even compare. Not only do you have to fill a room with a bunch of baby essentials, but it has to look pretty (after all, you’ll be spending a ton of time in there). Our associate buyer Reshum Panchal gives you a head start here: She paired the Shermag crib and NewCo’s velvet glider and ottoman (we love this Tiffany’s-inspired light blue) with a butterfly-themed rug. Add in some accent pieces (like the Peach Tree Bird Mobile and this adorable painting) and you’ve got a creative kids’ cove!
After a long day of endless spit-up and diaper changes, there is nothing like watching your newborn drift into a sweet slumber. That’s why we created Little Gilt, our very own crib bedding line that will help your baby drift off to sleep in no time. Here, our associate furniture buyer Reshum Panchal explains why these sheets, blankets, and bumpers will bring you and your baby pure bliss.
Why did Gilt Kids decide to have their own bedding line?
We wanted our customer to experience the brand in a more personal way. Design and quality are two things we really value, and we wanted to create products that demonstrated characteristics we believe in.
What makes this line of bedding stand out?
Its modern simplicity. We designed the line so that customers could mix-and-match pieces and create their own crib sets. Our sheets, duvets, and blankets are made of the softest cotton and chenille, cause we just couldn’t imagine little one’s snuggling up against anything else.
Of all the products Gilt Kids is selling, which one is your favorite and why?
I love the organic products, especially the bumper, blanket, and crib sheet. I am a huge fan of eco-friendly products, and I’m excited that we were able to incorporate them into this line.
Are there any plans to expand the line?
Our vision is to expand by adding prints and detailing to the bedding line. We would also love to eventually offer personalized blankets, and an apparel line mini trendsetters won’t be able to resist.
