Industrial and rustic elements mix with plenty of nature inspiration in Phylum Design’s pieces… and that’s why we love this brand. The Logan, Utah-based design company specializes in handmade pieces that are inspired by the glorious landscapes of that part of the country.
What really makes them score, is they’re subtle about the whole nature-connection aspect. We’ve all seen this genre of design gone wrong (i.e., tables with awkward hoof-legs). These are very right: think cylindrical vases that are fired so that the natural ash from the wood becomes an array of colors; and claro walnut sphere sculptures with a minimal midcentury feel. And the black-and-white art prints — depicting a wide range of images, from retro microphones to a closeup of a bee’s tongue — perfectly encapsulate the nature-meets-industry dichotomy that makes Phylum’s pieces just as appropriate for an urban loft as for a cool cottage.
We invite you to check out the Phylum Design sale starting Saturday, January 25, at noon. You just might find one or a few things that’ll transform your space — and your mood.
