Elisabeth Röhm: Her Top 5 Picks for Back-to-School

Elisabeth Röhm, best known for her roles as Serena on Law & Order and Kate on Angel, has been blogging for PEOPLE.com for over a year now. The actress, 39, currently stars as Taylor on The Client List, while her film Transit is out now, with Officer Down following later this year.

This school year is a momentous one for me, as Easton — my four-year-old daughter — will start her “big girl” school on September 11. With each step she takes toward her first day, I recall my own memories — I hope her transitions are smoother than mine were. She’s certainly more confidant! Easton and I took a look at the Gilt Baby & Kids back-to-school sale and selected a few must-haves for the fall. Can’t wait to get that first yearbook.

Jacadi Cardigan, $30

My daughter lives and breathes pink! Easton will be wearing a uniform to school this year, so I am constantly on the hunt for sweaters and accessories that give her a chance to show her personal style in a classic and appropriate way.

Beetlejuice Dress
, $42

Easton would wear a tutu every day if she could, so this flared skirt is a perfect compromise. She could wear the dress as is or with tights and leggings, which would give her many style options. Anytime I can find a cute, fun, and comfortable dress it is a win! I can already see her wearing this to birthday parties and play dates in the coming months.

Bensimon Shoes
, $50

The minute I saw these shoes I knew we had to have them. They are practical and original, which gives Easton a way to show some personality. The print is bold without being over-the-top and would be great with jeans and a t-shirt, or even paired with a dress.

Wildkin Lunch Tote
, $18

Why weren’t lunch boxes this stylish when I was in school? The size is perfect for making sure I pack Easton a healthy meal, and the bright pattern even lets her make a style statement at snack time.

Amelia Rose Charm Necklace, $27

Easton loves playing with my jewelry and this is the perfect piece to help start her own collection. I love that you can personalize the charm with an initial. I might get an E for myself too!
