Ingrid & Isabel: Style the Looks

Now that the holidays are over, it’s time to get back to basics. Editing your wardrobes seasonally is essential to looking polished and chic, but Ingrid & Isabel offers super-versatile pieces that take you seamlessly from day to night and season to season. Here are my top picks from the today’s sale, with a few styling suggestions to help you make one of your 2013 resolutions a sartorial one!

1. Dolman Dress, $35

This updated version of the classic t-shirt dress is a winner because of its lightweight fabric and modern dolman sleeves. Stay warm by slipping it over dark leggings and adding a cozy cashmere cardi like this one from Barrow & Grove.  Toughen up this style by adding these Ash booties, which I´m personally obsessed with, thanks to their black suede and spiked stud detailing.

2.  Wrap Tie Top, $48

You can literally wear this top everywhere (weekend brunch, the office, dinner date), and you can continue wearing it while nursing (it ties at the shoulder and hip for easy access, while the wrap covers you and the baby). I love this top paired with a streamlined black pencil skirt (obviously, go for stretchy fabric). Then throw on a playful knit blazer in a graphic print like this one from Cut25 by Yigal Azrouel. For a more glam look, work in a bit of arm candy with statement bracelets or cuffs, like these from Lavish by Tricia Milanese and R.J Graziano.

3.  Silk-Tie Shirdress, $98

This silk shirtdress can be worn as a tunic or a dress, and it’s a 365-days-a-year staple. I love it with opaque tights and these Seychelles safari boots for an equestrian touch. Keep jewelry minimal and instead opt for a lightweight scarf with a subtle print. I´m loving this Yarnz Argyle floral scarf.
