You may not have heard of this design duo yet, but Anna Wintour and Diane von Furstenberg have. They were part of a committee that selected Weiland and Eckstein (who co-helm the Timo Weiland brand) for the CFDA incubator program — a prestigious honor previously held by the likes of Prabal Gurung and Sophie Theallet — and an outline of their busy lives couldn’t be more indicative of their on-the-cusp status, from rubbing elbows with the doyenne of downtown fashion herself, Mrs. von Furstenberg, to spinning their favorite rock hits (from punk to glam) at the Jane Hotel’s rooftop for a weekly DJ gig.
We asked the two, who share a common admiration for Dries Van Noten (“always an ongoing love and inspiration”) and are rarely apart, to chronicle a typical Thursday for us with a few candid camera phone snaps. Here’s what we got!
A surprise studio visit to our office in the CFDA Fashion Incubator by CFDA President Diane von Furstenberg. Eckstein, far left, and Weiland flank the iconic designer.

On one of fashion’s biggest nights of the year, the industry’s hottest designers were surrounded by supermodels, Hollywood stars, and notables like former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who all came out to help celebrate this year’s Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Awards at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall. Highlights of the evening (hosted by Bravo’s Andy Cohen) included Clinton’s introduction of Founder Award recipient Oscar de la Renta (above with Clinton and CFDA president Diane von Furstenberg) who joked about her fashion icon status and pitched a new reality series called “Project Pantsuit.”
Congratulations to all the winners (and nominees!). See complete list below; winners in bold.

While major American designers like Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Tommy Hilfiger and Phillip Lim were recognized at the CFDA Awards on Monday night, there was one designer who was acknowledged who is just beginning his journey. Recent FIT graduate Kieran Dallison is the winner of this year’s CFDA/Gilt All-Star Scholarship Award, the first of its kind.
Chosen from a national pool of fashion design students and former CFDA scholarship winners, Kieran’s portfolio of jersey-based designs wowed the judging panel of luminaries…, including Harper’s Bazaar Editor-in-Chief Glenda Bailey, designer Prabal Gurung, Stacey Bendet of Alice + Olivia, Gilt Womens GM Jyothi Rao, and Lisa Smilor of the CFDA.
Kieran has produced a debut collection of sexy, stylish and fresh separates available only on Gilt.com! Starting June 8 at noon ET, you can buy pieces from the limited edition line, from T-shirt dresses with an edge to slinky jersey skirts to revealing rompers. Stay tuned for more from Kieran, the judges and the star-studded bash to celebrate the collaboration!
