Fashion Week Photo Diary: Our F/W ’14 Favorite Moments

New York is being pummeled by yet another blizzard at the moment, which means it’s the ideal time to gaze upon gorgeous coats on the runway and get excited about the cozy pieces we’ll be layering up in for the fall ’14 fashion season. Forget the fact that stilettos and snowstorms don’t make for great bedfellows—there was plenty of chic fun to be had in boots, and these were a few of my favorite moments.

The week kicked off, as usual, with a chic show from BCBG—newsflash, black and white aren’t going anywhere—followed by Richard Chai, where I had my first (but certainly not last!) WTF moment when I saw Joe Jonas front row. Turns out he’s a fashion blogger now.

Friday brought the always-gorgeous Peter Som show, and these killer booties, courtesy of Christian Louboutin. I was happy to see that my fellow shoe freak Olivia Palermo, who sat front row, was lusting as much as I was.

Things Personal Style Bloggers Love

The Pose: Jane Aldrige of Sea of Shoes, Keiko Lynn, Leandra Medine of The Man Repeller

Those nothing-to-wear mornings suddenly suck a little less when you have an arsenal of outfit inspiration courtesy of our favorite personal style bloggers. But after a few hours down the rabbit hole that is the fashion blogosphere, we find ourselves with a bit of déjà vu: Maybe it’s something in the New York City water supply, but it seems like every gal worth her style-blogging swag has suddenly adopted a pair of reflective rainbow sunnies, a boyfriend who’s handy with a Nikon, and a signature stance (see the “Oh, Just Looking at My Shoes” pose above for reference). Ready to join the party? Shop the Dress Like a Style Blogger sale now on Gilt.

1. The Jill Stuart Kasey Dress
“I’ve been wearing a lot of lace and living in my Kasey Dress – it’s cute with a little cropped cardigan on top. I mix and match everything.”

2. The Jill Stuart Windowpane Skirt
“I spent this past summer and into the fall wearing the “windowpane” skirt. I literally got stopped on the street every time I wore it — it’s one of my favorite pieces ever.”

3. A Classic Trench Coat
“This is the perfect time of year for a trench coat — I love a classic trench that’s been updated. I find I wear mine all the time because it just works with everything.”
