New York is being pummeled by yet another blizzard at the moment, which means it’s the ideal time to gaze upon gorgeous coats on the runway and get excited about the cozy pieces we’ll be layering up in for the fall ’14 fashion season. Forget the fact that stilettos and snowstorms don’t make for great bedfellows—there was plenty of chic fun to be had in boots, and these were a few of my favorite moments.
The week kicked off, as usual, with a chic show from BCBG—newsflash, black and white aren’t going anywhere—followed by Richard Chai, where I had my first (but certainly not last!) WTF moment when I saw Joe Jonas front row. Turns out he’s a fashion blogger now.
Friday brought the always-gorgeous Peter Som show, and these killer booties, courtesy of Christian Louboutin. I was happy to see that my fellow shoe freak Olivia Palermo, who sat front row, was lusting as much as I was.

On Monday night we hopped a cab to Lincoln Center. Final destination: The Strut Fashion Show, a dream turned reality for Denise Albert and Melissa Gerstein of themoms.com. The show featured haute mamas (including actress Lisa Rinna) flaunting spring’s coolest clothes. Host Wendy Williams emphasized that “moms on a mission” come in all shapes and sizes, so Lycra is necessary (she read our minds!). The looks came in a slew of silhouettes, but here are the top trends from the runway.
