The best reason to celebrate the arrival of chillier days? Fall fashion, but of course! We’re welcoming the season with our fall trends series, highlighting a different must-have look each week — and introducing you to a chic Gilt staffer to show you how we’re wearing it. This week, we invite you to meet Ruby Jun, assistant stylist and self-proclaimed “lipstick tomboy,” who’s giving traditional menswear prints a chic new twist. On the runways, houndstooth, plaid, and pinstripes were hot at Cèline, Stella McCartney, and Christian Dior, and on Ruby, they’re getting a streetwise infusion. “This fall’s menswear trend truly speaks to my personal style,” she tells us. “I am a huge advocate of mixing and matching, so I love to take something like a houndstooth coat, throw on a striped oxford or gingham even, leather leggings and my Docs. Don’t be afraid of print on print on print.”
Ready to heed her advice? Shop the first sale in our fall trends series starting tomorrow at noon ET, then check back each week for a new fall trend (and a glimpse inside a new Gilt staffer’s wardrobe!).
