NYFW Special: Dress Like A Fashion Editor

New York Fashion Week officially kicks off tomorrow (follow us on Instagram and Twitter for hot scoop straight from Lincoln Center!), and to celebrate, we’re throwing a “Dress Like a Fashion Editor” sale–and asking our favorite magazine gals and bloggers for their style secrets:

Joyann King, Harper’s Bazaar: “I’m a planner through and through. As each season is unveiled, I make a list of what I am coveting and narrow it down as the retail season approaches. A great shoe is always on my list—for fall it will be the stacked heel bootie in a chalky grey.”

Nikki Ogunnaike, Glamour: “I’d say my secret is to invest in statement staples that will carry you from season to season. Take for example, these printed pants and blue suede pumps. They work with everything from oxford shirts to leather jackets and are great staples that can transition from summer to fall.”

Melissa Liebling-GoldbergPOPSUGAR: “For me, it’s all about the accessories. My strategy is to go through all of the end-of-season sale items on ShopStyle.com to get the best deals possible on the big ticket items: Shoes and bags. I’ll wear tons of Zara, ASOS, and J. Crew clothing, but I need that major statement shoe and designer bag to get totally ready for the tents.”

Rebecca Willa Davis, Nylon: “To make trends you’ve got to break the rules. Whether it’s wearing socks with heels or half a dozen necklaces at once, don’t be afraid to get weird!”
