Nature gets real in celebrated artist Christopher Marley's works. From bugs to butterflies to birds and plenty in between, creatures are the main feature in his eye-opening works. And it's all cast through a lens that respects nature. "Everything I do has either an environmentally advantageous or at least neutral effect," the artist says of his work. "My birds, fish, and reptiles all die of natural causes and are sent to me for preservation by the individuals and institutions that work with them as an alternative to disposing of them. I feel—and I hope my patrons do, too–that my work is a vastly superior alternative to rotting away in a landfill." Superior, to be sure—and superbly artful.
