ACNE jeans were the first item of inspired clothing in the Acne Studios collection, but the much-loved label now creates shoes, dresses, and accessories as well, all of which achieve the same clean, meticulous aesthetic. Scandinavian firm Ambition to Create Novel Expressions started Acne Jeans in 1997 by passing out 100 pairs to family and friends; within a year, the company had launched its first official line. Since then, the label has applied its artistic sensibility to graphic design and its in-house Acne Paper, a twice-yearly magazine collaboration with Acne Film, Acne Digital, and Acne Creative. ACNE jeans run the denim gamut, from straight leg jeans to skinny jeans to bootcuts and more; the brand also has your entire wardrobe covered, with cardigans, jackets, parkas, full-zip sweaters, coats and other outerwear for your wintry needs; long-sleeved sport shirts, oxfords and dress pants for the office, and casual pants, tanks, short sleeved sport shirts, leather jackets and crewneck tees for the weekend.
These labels go above and beyond denim basics. Paige Black Label expands the line’s famous jean fits into trim trousers and leather pants. Acne offers slouchy, boyfriend blazers, biker-style jackets and fiercely cut dresses like these in strapless stretch denim, while Rag & Bone’s tanks and snug vests make a cool combo. Among these edgy additions to the jean-centric labels, there are also plenty of skinny jeans and jean jackets.
