ADAM's tops, jackets and t-shirts are noted for their sumptuous quality – unsurprising, considering that company founder Adam Lippes cut his teeth at Ralph Lauren and Oscar de la Renta. In 2004, Lippes launched ADAM at Saks Fifth Avenue with a collection of wearable yet luxurious cotton basics; since then, his label has evolved into a full sportswear collection of luxe knits defined by sexy, sophisticated tailoring. Lippes became a member of the prestigious CFDA in 2007, and in the same year Vanity Fair named him one of the most important young designers working today.
With the holiday season upon us, it’s time for a much-needed dose of ultra-feminine glamour. Your new must-haves await you in this collection of party-ready fashions from some of our best-loved brands. Think silky wrap dresses from Kate Middleton’s favorite, Issa London; pleated frocks and sharp suiting from ADAM, and more. This mix has plenty of festive looks made for decking the halls in style: Think leather trimmed sheaths, silky blouses, and printed blazers.
Cornell University graduate, Adam Lippes began his career in fashion at Polo Ralph Lauren in the public relations department. In 1996, he moved to Oscar de la Renta, where he quickly grew to be one of the youngest creative directors in the luxury fashion world. Lippes gained invaluable experience during his tenure as worldwide creative director at Oscar de la Renta, until ultimately pursuing his own vision. In the spring of 2004, Adam launched his eponymous collection of wearable yet luxurious cotton basics at Saks Fifth Avenue. Since then, the label has grown from luxury basics into a full sportswear collection. In 2007, Lippes was inducted as a member of the prestigious Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and that same year he was chosen as a member of Vanity Fair’s elite “New Establishment,” and named as one of the most important young designers of today. Currently, you can find Adam’s flagship store in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District as well as distribution in top stores like Bergdorf Goodman, Jeffery New York, Bloomingdales and now, Gilt Groupe.
