Former painter Adrienne Landau began her career as an outerwear designer more than 25 years ago, when she traded some of her artwork for an antique fur coat that she then reworked into a new set of handbags. She has since become known for mixing unusual combinations of materials, including exotic furs, sleek silk, and lavish cashmere. Landau's collection includes specialty-designed furs, vests (from ocelot print to rabbit), capes, stoles, scarves, hats, leather and cashmere accessories, handbags, home furnishings, and ready-to-wear clothing. Oprah, Barbra Streisand, and many other A-list celebrities wear her designs, which now include a full ready-to-wear line in addition to her trademark specialty-designed furs.
