Alexis Bittar
In 1990, at the tender age of 22, New York City native Alexis Bittar launched his eponymous costume jewelry label from his modest East Village apartment. It didn't take long before the buzz about Bittar's ingenious, hand-carved, gilded acrylic creations reached the Guggenheim Museum and Henri Bendel. By 1999, Bittar was designing couture jewelry for Burberry — reinterpreting the brand's signature plaid in Lucite. Alexis Bittar jewelry is an expression of a singular and extraordinary vision, and his collectable pieces enjoy international adoration. In 2004 Bittar was honored with the Accessories Council’s "Rising Star" award and in became a member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America. With regular features in premier publications such as Vogue, Elle and Vanity Fair, his earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and rings have become favorites for Madonna, Oprah Winfrey, Sarah Jessica Parker, and other A-listers.
