Anagram by Gary Graham is a capsule collection of clothing based on designer Gary Graham’s eponymous line. Each item is an anagram (a rearrangement) of another – each fitted jacket and fluid, sensuous dress reinvented in a revised form. Known for his idiosyncratic, history-buff aesthetic, Gary Graham’s luxe-but-casual designer wear resonates with a dark, romantic intellectualism. His magpie-like bag of influences is vast: portraits from the Dust Bowl era, the raggedy majesty of Romani gypsy culture, antique botanical engravings, and ancient Persian wrestling outfits. These disparate sources of inspiration are transformed by Graham’s creative alchemy through cut and material, with luxurious silks, satins and wools garment-dyed to perfection.
