Founded by Dawn Kikel in 2001, Arcadia Home is a haven of eco-friendly, ethically produced homeware. Arcadia’s major focus is on four different materials: alpaca, hand-felted wool, recycled cotton and recycled plastic bags. These materials combine to form a wealth of home ornaments and home décor items: colorful animal heads made of recycled t-shirts; holiday-themed wreaths, garlands, stockings and tree skirts; everyday journals, table runners, napkin rings, office sets and more. Each Arcadia Home product not only supports artisans in the various countries they work in around the world but also supports the important work environmental groups are doing to make the planet safer, healthier, and happier. And the good work has not gone unnoticed: Arcadia was tapped to create holiday decorations for the Obama family’s first Christmas in the White House – including a darling stocking just for the First Dog.
