Baron Wells’ simple, restrained menswear comfortably straddles the lines between formal and casual, sporty surfer dude and preppy Ivy Leaguer, Nantucket and Malibu. Launched in 2010 by childhood friends (and self-taught designers) Dominick Volini and Mads Madsen, this New York City-based label creates timeless designs enhanced by expert tailoring and unique detailing. Made of 100% cotton or brushed twill, Baron Wells’ slim-fitting chinos and tapered pants feature jeans-style pockets and marbled buttons and come in practical colors for easy mixing-and-matching. Shirts include long- and short-sleeved button-down oxfords made of twill or Japanese chambray and graphic tees emblazoned with vintage photos taken around the world. Looking to dress up a plain dress shirt? Try a pair of hand-tied, fishing-fly cufflinks, packaged in an engraved glass vial. Except for its tees, Baron Wells makes all of its clothing in NYC in accordance with its “buy (or make) domestic whenever possible” ethos.
