Belle by Sigerson Morrison
Once upon a time in England, Miranda Morrison spent her youth at the library, poring over literature on how shoes are made. Meanwhile, in Nebraska, Kari Sigerson was finding inspiration in a pair of white go-go boots gifted by her grandmother. Some time later, the two would meet in a design class at F.I.T and by 1991 would conspire to create the first Sigerson Morrison shoes in Tribeca. By the following year, Bergdorf Goodman had picked up the brand, and by 1995 the first Sigerson Morrison store opened on Mott Street. In 2004, the company launched its diffusion line, Belle (named after Morrison's daughter), peddling edgier, more affordable footwear options.
