Serge and Yves Bensimon started their namesake brand as a tribute to their grandfather, who in the 1940s sold American surplus clothing in France. Inspired by the militaristic looks and well-worn fabrics of yore, their clothing quickly became a favorite of the Parisian youth. They opened their first flagship store in the Marais in the 1980s, and today have more than 20 stores all over the city.
