There's nothing sheepish about Black Fleece by Brooks Brothers. With award-winning CFDA designer Thom Browne at the helm, this line of cutting-edge men’s and women’s clothing is no mere derivative of the famous suit maker's more traditional fare. Relying on Brooks Brothers' time-honored standards of cut and technique, Browne reinterprets the brand with an avant-garde eye. Tailored tuxedo tops, wool and mohair blazers and pants, striped lambswool hoodies, and cotton ties apply restrained cool to classic shapes. Black Fleece opens up a whole new world for Brooks Brothers while honoring the iconic label’s old rules about craftsmanship.
No-brainer looks for on-the-clock hours.
Thom Brown is the first guest designer invited by Brooks Brothers to create their debut Black Fleece collection. This collection offers many of the hallmarks attributed with Brooks Brothers like high quality materials, attention to detail and classic tailoring, however, the Black Fleece independent spirit and aesthetic offers a distinctive style that sets this collection apart. As an example, a full canvas provides shape and structure to all men’s and women’s jackets, including outerwear pieces. Pants are fabricated with a button fly, harkening back to a time before the zipper was standard, and are fully lined. The women’s dresses feature corset-style construction that proved shape and body to the garments. Thom Browne was the recipient of the 2006 CFDA Award for Menswear and with Black Fleece locations in New York, Boston and San Francisco, this debut label is an exciting addition to Gilt Groupe. Preview pieces from Black Fleece sale

But it's a small world after all: Thom Browne still looks to Brooks' standards, he just reinterprets them with an avant-garde eye. Expect classic cardigans in mismatched patchwork patterns, double-breasted vests with covered buttons, and puffer jackets lined in the signature Brooks Brothers stripe.
