In the 1970s, Boast was the clothing brand of choice among fun-loving, irreverent preppy types and "those on the outside of the inside." Founded by pro tennis player Bill St. John in 1972, Boast claimed Greenwich, Connecticut as its home base, and outfitted everyone from the Yale squash team to former U.S. president George W. Bush in its country club-inspired polo shirts — hand-embroidered with the company’s signature Japanese maple leaf logo. Now headed by Ryan Babenzien, Boast has been winning over a new generation with an apparel collection featuring timeless men’s polos and plaid button-down shirts, women’s T-shirt dresses and tennis skorts, blazers and warm-up jackets, and more. Made from Peruvian cotton, Boast’s polo shirts come in countless vibrant colors as well as pinstripe patterns. As part of its rebirth, Boast has been working with Partners & Spade, the agency founded by Jack Spade founder (and Mr. Kate Spade) Andy Spade.
