Leather on carbon fiber small laptop case.
Brand: Calder Originals
Material: Leather, Carbon Fiber, Lining: Velvet
Origin: United Kingdom
In 2003, Englishman Nick Comer-Calder set out to build a line of truly outstanding instrument cases — road-worthy tools that would not only stand up to the world’s abuses, but look great doing it. Three years later, Calder Originals was born. The label started with guitar and violin cases, but quickly expanded to include laptop cases as well. No matter what it holds, though, a Calder case is a thing of beauty, comprised of an incredibly light, incredibly strong carbon fiber shell that’s wrapped in top grain leather from one of France’s most respected tanneries and lined with silk velvet. Each piece is crafted in the southwest of England by local craftsmen from custom-made components, and takes over 35 hours to complete. If you’re serious about protecting your gear — be it musical or technological — this is the way to do it.
