Camper officially launched in 1975, but the company’s history goes back all the way to 1877. That’s the year cobbler extraordinaire Antonio Fluxà left Spain for spell to visit the bustling footwear factories of England. Fluxà’s crash course in industrial shoe-making informed his business practices and provided a sturdy foundation for his shoe company to thrive for generations. Founded by Lorenzo Fluxà, Antonio’s grandson, Camper is a decidedly family-owned brand, cherished the world over for its distinctive shoes and boots. From its eye-catching women’s platform sandals to its sneakers for kids, Camper’s footwear designs stand out for their timelessness, subtle irreverence and forward-thinking shapes. In addition to footwear, Camper has branched out into accessories, including the paper-thread Mori collection of men’s and women’s bags and comfy socks by fashion designer Dai Fujiwara.
