About Carolina Amato

Originally trained as a painter, Carolina Amato eventually chose fabrics and threads over brushes and oils – launching her eponymous accessories label in 1979. The switch wasn’t all that surprising: Amato’s grandmothers worked in New York City’s Garment District, and her grandfather made his living as a furniture upholsterer. Amato’s elegant hats, jewelry, scarves and wraps have landed her in the pages of top fashion magazines and in specialty stores all over the world. Message your friends in style in a pair of Amato’s “Holed It” texting gloves (available in cashmere and angora, and in men’s sizes), or dress up that little black dress with one of her Austrian crystal necklaces or freshwater pearl double-headbands. Lightweight cotton scarves for summer, satin bridal and evening gloves, and winter-ready infinity wraps are just some of the many other essentials you’ll find in Amato’s collection.
