Carven makes clothing for people who know fashion and are unafraid to mix textures and fabrics to create eclectic yet elegant style statements. The brand was founded in 1945 by Carmen de Tommasso, who set up shop near Champs Elysées in Paris. She catered to an elite clientele of film stars and royals, who adored her fragrances, accessories and couture designed for women on the petite side. From the legendary 1946 Carven perfume, Ma Griffe, to today’s experimental yet timeless range of dresses, shoes and accessories – not to mention Carven’s lines of menswear and jewelry – this fashion house has gone from strength to strength. Today, Carven is helmed by creative director Guillame Henry, whose ability to combine vintage and modern styles has led to both bandage dresses and cocktail dresses, alongside cropped pants, too-cool sunglasses and perfect skirts.
