Translating classic design into beautifully modern housewares is Thomas Paul’s stock-in-trade. The New York City native came to home goods through fashion, appropriating the patterns he designed for neckties for a silkscreened line of throw pillows. Today, the Thomas Paul aesthetic includes stylized flora, fauna, chinoiserie, damask and toile prints, as well as gothic and Grecian silhouettes. In his hands, they grace everything from melamine platters and porcelain dessert plates to large-scale rugs and fine art pieces.
