Chemex
Chemex coffee makers and filters are beloved by coffee purists everywhere, who appreciate the stylish and classic lines of the iconic borosilicate pot, wood collar and leather tie as well as the delicious filter-dripped coffee it produces. Slow-brewed and evenly filtered, Chemex-made coffee retains all of its aromatic flavor with none of the bitterness of an inferior cup, thanks in part to its scientifically designed Chemex-Bonded coffee filters. Invented in 1941 by playboy and bon vivant chemist Dr. Peter Schlumbohm, the design of the Chemex Coffeemaker has changed little since its inception – because why mess with a good thing? In fact, the coffeemaker was so universally acknowledged as a good thing that it was snapped up for permanent display at the Museum of Modern Art a mere three years after its invention, and remains on display today.
