Clara Kasavina
Clara Kasavina’s award-winning jewelry, handbags, and accessories epitomize glamour and elegance. Originally from the Ukraine, Kasavina and her husband, Misha Berger, designed accessories at Ralph Lauren and Donna Karan before opening their own studio in New York City. More than three decades later, Berger still sculpts all the metal work used in the Kasavina collection. Among the label’s most widely coveted items is the Clara Kasavina clutch: a compact handbag made of python skin, leather, or crocodile, and embellished with hand-sculpted metal filigree accentuated with glittering Swarovski crystals. Sculpted metal is the primary characteristic of Clara Kasavina’s jewelry collection, from her crystal-embellished, filigreed Fiona hoop earrings to the satin-finished Ivy cuff (modeled by Jennifer Lopez in Vogue). As a nod to haute couture of the 1930s, Clara Kasavina offers an expansive line of crystal minaudières — silk-lined ornamental cases encrusted with thousands of Swarovski crystals. Especially unique is the Peter the Great, an egg-shaped minaudière fastened with a magnetic clasp.
