D&G JEWELRY
The luxury fashion house Dolce & Gabbana landed on the map when Italian design duo Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana created an astonishing 1,500 different looks for Madonna's 1993 world tour. Sex appeal has remained a dominant theme of the label’s designs since its first womenswear collection debuted in 1985 — think curve-hugging dresses, underwear as outerwear, and leopard print applied to everything from handbags, shoes, and dresses to cosmetics (the Animalier collection) and leather iPhone sleeves. When it comes to designing women’s jewelry, D&G takes a similar, bold approach — dressing up dangling gold-plated earrings with velvet inserts and padlock pendants, adding black voile puffs or bright, hand-painted "Capodimonte" floral elements to multi-chain charm necklaces and bracelets, or engraving its logo on a silver-tone ring. Through its diffusion line D&G, Dolce & Gabbana designed men’s and women’s watches ranging from classic stainless-steel designs to crystal-encrusted, bracelet-style timepieces. Dolce & Gabbana shut down D&G in 2011 to focus on other projects — including a couture line launched in 2012 — but still offers plenty of glittery jewelry through its flagship label.
