About DaunenStep

DaunenStep’s “passion for the feather” is evident in its collection of goose down comforters, duvets and pillows. Founded in 1907 in Bolzano, Italy by duvet-making extraordinaire Marius Eccel, the family-owned Daunen Step workshop still follows the same steps set in place more than one hundred years ago. Each pillow or duvet is stuffed and sewn by hand, all to fulfill that greatest of human needs: sleep.

Daunen Step Italian Basic Bedding

Well-known in its home country of Italy, this bedding company has been handcrafting quilts from the soft brown plumage of the Eider duck for over a century. But its luxurious goods have been virtually unknown in the States—until now. Gilt Home has the U.S exclusive on the line, which includes plush, body-heat-regulating comforters in a variety of densities. And don’t forget the complementary pillows, which are equally dreamy.
