About Descendant of Thieves

"Love Thy Neighbor, but for heaven's sake, do not dress like him," jokes Dres Ladro, the noncomformist founder and creative force behind the sporty menswear label Descendant of Thieves. Ladro would rather you fellows dress like he does: in Descendant of Thieves creations like the blue highwayman shirt (a button-down oxford with contrast stitching), the two-tone preppy slub polo, grosgrain belts in eye-popping teal, or the lightweight "exploded" plaid woven shirt; the sizing and fit of the clothes are all carefully coordinated for maximum cool. Based in Berlin, Ladro — his name is a nom de plume, is the Italian word for “thief” — only wears clothing that he designs and constructs himself. Every Descendant of Thieves shirt features quiet detailing such as stitch-through collars, slightly angled pockets, yellow taping under hems and cuffs, and — for a fun twist — hidden messages. Ladro limits the sale of each design to no more than 400 units per style, making your Thieves threads nearly one-of-a-kind. Just keep the equation that the brand applies to everything it makes in mind: Descendant of Thieves = (traditional clothes - Dad) x eccentric artist.

Wear It Now: Camo

Camouflage might have been developed to help soldiers blend into deserts and jungles, but we don't know of a print that's more ubiquitous right now. Rather than serving to help you blend into the crowd, these camo pieces from Marc by Marc Jacobs, Alternative Apparel, Naked & Famous, and others, ranging from pants to jackets to bags, are now the most stylish way to stand out.
