The son of a Chinese cinematographer, fashion designer Wang Shuo was still a child when he began to comprehend the role that clothing plays in self-expression. The way a minor garment detail can shift the entire tone of an outfit particularly fascinated him. When he launched his contemporary luxury menswear label Diwon in 2004, he focused on creating fine-tuned apparel rendered with painstaking precision. Diwon’s satin-trim wool blazer, lambskin button front jacket and other outerwear show his keen eye for fit, structuring, and refined but masculine design. The Diwon man, he says, is “a captivating being with an effortlessly sophisticated charm and a subtle hint of musical presence in his eurhythmic flair.”
