Brand: Dries Van Noten by Linda Farrow
Material: Acetate
Origin: Japan
When Linda Farrow launched her namesake eyewear collection in 1970, the number of designers who regarded sunglasses as anything more than a merely utilitarian accessory probably could have fit inside a Mayfair boutique. Attitudes have changed since then, but Farrow’s focus on creating ultra-fashionable sunglasses has not. Dries van Noten by Linda Farrow pairs the innovative London-based label with van Noten, the CFDA award-winning Belgian designer known for his cerebral designs. The collection reinterprets wayfarers, aviators, granny glasses, and other classic styles with thick, futuristic frames made of colored acetate; the glasses’ 100% UV-protective gradient lenses come in a rainbow of colors, from burgundy to green. With Farrow’s son, Simon Jablon, at the helm, Linda Farrow continues to produce top-quality sunglasses and optical frames that run the gamut from refined and traditional to austere and avant-garde. Through Dries van Noten by Linda Farrow and its other, frequent collaborations with high-end designers and fashion houses (Matthew Williamson, Oscar de la Renta, The Row), Linda Farrow remains at the forefront of eyewear design.
