Edun is a fashion label with a conscience. Founded in 2005 by U2 lead singer Bono and his wife Ali Hewson, the mission of this CFDA award-winning label is twofold: To create stylish clothing for men and women, and to stimulate sustainable trade with Africa. Edun sources its cotton t-shirts and denim jeans from carefully monitored factories in Tunisia, Kenya, and Uganda, and also strives to use organic and sustainable materials in its products. The label updates classic dresses, separates, and outerwear with a color palette inspired by twilight and distinctive details such as mesh panels, leather trim, and grommets. In 2009, LVMH Moët Hennessy became a 49 percent owner of Edun, bringing the label additional prestige and a wider audience.
