NYC-based designer Eugenia Kim launched her quirky hat and accessories collection after designing a fabulous headpiece to cover up a particularly terrible haircut and inadvertently causing a sensation. Kim was a Parsons student when she designed her hairdo-hiding headpiece and wore it around Manhattan, quickly catching the attention of boutique owners. These days Kim is known for her men’s and women’s hats, scarves and winter accessories, which feature innovative shapes, luxe materials, and atypical details. Designs like the Felix cat hat (a knit cap with cat ears), the Carmen floppy fedora, and the straw sun hats and woven caps of the Genie series have made Kim a favorite among celebrities like Beyoncé, Sarah Jessica Parker, Gwen Stefani, and Madonna. In addition to her own designs, Kim has collaborated with the iconic hat brand Stetson on a collection inspired by the colorful paintings of American artist Georgia O'Keeffe.
