Named for its hands-on approach, this Austin-based company works with artisans around the world to create custom designs using sustainable materials. In 1991, on an Eat-Pray-Love fest of self-discovery, founder Brett Hatton set off to retrace the ancient Silk Road between China and Europe. He found so many antique treasures, furniture items and rare devices in Pakistan and India that his future path became clear: he set up a furniture business to bring his finds to the world.
