Professional Aussie skateboarders (and brothers) Peter and Stephen Hill founded Hardcore, a skateboard distribution company, in 1984. Dissatisfied with the products available in Australia, they began to import equipment from the United States. Throughout the 80s, the company would be the driving force in the rising popularity of skateboarding in their country and massive feat that would be the inspiration for their next endeavor. In 1994, they brought in their brother to help start Globe, initially beginning with shoes for skaters and surfers, and inevitably expanding to apparel. Now what began as a company for skaters has expanded to “a global network of counter culture artisans” that embodies the spirit of Globe and its skater-inspired culture.
