Goorin Brothers has been making men look dapper since 1895, when company founder and namesake Cassel Goorin started selling his customized, hand-crafted hats from a horse-drawn cart parked in Pittsburgh. Over the years Goorin added a few women’s styles — we’re particularly fond of the Violet, a 1333 Minna straw cloche accented with poppy-print fabric — and outfitted everyone from participants in the 1960 Olympics to fishing enthusiasts in its fedoras, caps, and fitted styles. Now in its fourth generation, this family-owned business keeps its collections real and authentic with designs like the Eric B — a woven straw fedora perfect for everyday wear — and the sporty Awola cadet cap in herringbone fabric. Many years removed from its Pittsburgh past, the brand now calls San Francisco home.
