Since the 1960s, the name Havaianas has been synonymous with flip-flops. Made in Brazil of supple molded rubber, Havaianas are comfortable, shock-absorbent, and durable enough to resist warping and weathering. At one time, they were available in only eight colors, but now there’s virtually no permutation of color and theme one can’t find. Over the years, Havaianas' popularity has expanded tremendously, thanks to special editions created for the 1998 World Cup, the Academy Awards in 2003 (and each year since), and even one jewel-encrusted version for the Brazilian jewelry house H.Stern.
Shoes that will help kids step into summer in style.
Choosing among these vibrant Brazilian flip-flops is no easy feat, which is why you’ll be tickled to learn they’re offered in sets of two. We’re especially fond of the patterns, which include bright, kinetic florals, optical graphics and funky animal prints. In addition to traditional thongs, look for several asymmetric cross-strap styles.
