Pin Down Bladder Cancer is a major campaign to bring awareness and raise funds for bladder cancer, one of the most underfunded cancer research areas. Supporters are asked to have friends and family sponsor them for at least $1 per day to wear their rosette every day in the month of July.
Bladder cancer is the fourth most common cancer in men and the fifth most common overall, with an estimated 500,000 people in the U.S. alone currently affected. There are 70,000 new cases a year, with 14,000 deaths, and the rate of recurrence is 50 to 75 percent. 80 percent of cases are in men, and though it is the most expensive cancer to treat on a per patient basis, bladder cancer gets 10-20 times less funding than other tumor types, such as prostate or colorectal cancer.
Due to the amount of research needed and the huge funding gap that exists today, the Pin Down Bladder Cancer campaign believes it can have more impact, per dollar raised, than many other similar causes.
The proceeds raised from the Pin Down Bladder Cancer initiatives will go to support Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center's (MSKCC) bladder cancer Translational Science Program

After reconnecting at a mutual friend’s wedding and bonding over their shared love of bright socks, Hook + Albert co-founders Adam Schoenberg and Cory Rosenberg realized that, of all the men in attendance, not one had a go-to accessories brand.
