Joomi Lim’s edgy costume jewelry is a beautiful blend of naughty and nice. As much as she likes her crystals, ribbons and pearls, she’s been known to layer on the chains and throw a spike or five into the mix. This former makeup artist’s first foray into fashion was with Joomi Joolz, her line of bedazzled T-shirts that she sold in 2004. In January 2008, she launched JoomiNYC, with a focus on striking necklaces, earrings and bracelets, in addition to luxe headbands and bridal hair accessories. Fashionable young celebs — including Jessica Alba, Leighton Meester and Rihanna — have found much to like among these punkish yet pretty pieces. Born in Seoul, Lim runs the business with her husband, French designer Xavier Ricolfi.
