Born into a family of tisserands (weavers), Jules Pansu started his namesake company in Paris in 1878. Four generations later, J Pansu remains the premier producer of wall tapestries — although it now offers the same exquisite handiwork in the form of cushions, throws and rugs, too. Current products may have more graphic patterns and brighter colors than before, but all items are still woven in traditional Jacquard workshops along the Belgian border, just as they have been since day 1.
