Kasbah Mod’s rejuvenated vintage typewriters are modified bits of modernity in analog bodies – taking vintage to the next level with high-end refurbishments of the coolest writing tools this side of a quill and ink pot. Kasbah Mod – also known as Kasbah Moderne – takes typewriters (complete with original 1873 typewriter technology), spiffs them up to pristine working condition, and retrofits them to suit any need – with custom paint jobs, 24-karat gold plating, artist-inspired editions – or even custom ink. Launched in 2010 by Chase Gilbert, these couture-quality machines allow lovers of high design to disconnect from the digital world one beautiful art object at a time.
To assemble this selection of home accents, we took our inspiration from the past. From rustic, reclaimed bins and boxes, to found military binoculars, to a vintage English saddle, each piece comes from (or evokes) a time when craftsmanship was king and details truly mattered. Mix and match a few pieces for an artful, collected-over-time look.
