You may not expect children’s clothing to be particularly artful, but Kicokids will convince you otherwise. The label’s creative director, Tia Cibani, constructs playful, intriguingly proportioned looks inspired by the work of artists Albert Delamour and Ritsuko Hirai. Girls’ outfits combine bold, overlapping prints with fun, origami-like details. For boys, Kicokids revamps prim classics like crewnecks and button-downs, with trompe-l’oeil pockets and irregular stripes. Even the accessories, which range from knit brooches to print-lined newsboy caps, resemble finely rendered crafts.
