Parents need to know that LeapFrog Explorer Learning Game: Pet Pals 2: Best of Friends! is a great introductory title for the Leapster Explorer and LeapPad Explorer. Unlike some of the other games, this one does not follow a set story line. Kids are free to explore, play games, and take care of their puppy. It does have an emphasis on consumer behavior, as you are given coins for doing certain tasks (including being a good friend) and are encouraged to buy clothes, toys, and premium food for your puppy. The game also supports Micromods, which allow kids to connect online and download additional game-related content, and the LeapFrog Learning Path where parents can track their kids' progress in the game.

Features:

  • Explore a town full of fun surprises
  • Use mathematics skills to win the dog show
  • Explore feelings and emotions as you adopt and take care of your very own puppy
  • Teaches emotions, responsibility, numbers, counting, addition and subtraction
  • Works with Leapster Explorer and LeapPad Explorer systems (sold separately)
  • Recommended ages 4 to 8 years

Although we can only offer these items at full price, we love the products and are excited to bring them to our members.

Brand: LeapFrog

Headquartered in Emeryville, California, LeapFrog was founded in 1995 when entrepreneur Michael Wood was unable to find toys that would help teach his son to read. Since then, the company has grown exponentially, developing a number of products focusing on three main areas: educational gaming, grade school learning toys, and reading solutions. The LeapPad was LeapFrog’s flagship product from 1999 to 2007, when it was replaced by the Tag reading system. Another notable product is the Leapster, a handheld gaming device with a touch screen.
