The fresh, classic designs, of Matouk linens, bedding, towels and sheets has always been synonymous with high style and uncompromising luxury. The roots of the company’s aesthetic, as well as its craft, are deep, running all the way back to pre-war Europe and even Damascus, where the company’s founder, John Matouk, was born to a family of jewelers. Matouk took his appreciation for workmanship to Italy, where he studied the linen business, and gained expertise in intricate lacework and hand-applied details. When he made it to New York, in 1929, and began selling trunks of singular fabrics to society’s movers and shakers, Matouk, as we know it today, was born. Today, the company is known for bespoke designs, classic appliqués, and its top-flight collaborations like Lulu DK for Matouk, a new bedding line in conjunction with Lulu de Kwiatkowski, founder and chief designer of Lulu DK Fabrics & Wallpaper.
